A boat trip on the Meuse River gives you a beautiful view of the city. Valkenburg is known for its caves, but the atmospheric Christmas market in the caves is also a special experience during the winter. The villages of Gulpen, Vijlen and Epen are well worth a visit and exude a warm atmosphere to explore. The Belgian city of Liege and the German city of Aachen, with its famous Dom, are also nearby and lend themselves perfectly to a day trip.
